This berlinetta 400 Superamerica has a body in the style called "super Fast" and is a unique example of its kind, a pearing on the front cover of nearly all the world's motoring journals when it was first presented in 1960.
Battista "Pinin" Farina, who built it, liked it so much that he kept it as his own personal car for two years, during which he modified it four times. He relinquished it to an Italian enthusiast in 1962, and it then went to an American from San Diego in 1969.
It returned to Europe in 1988 for a total coachwork restoration. It has been resprayed in the original metallic blue colour chosen by Farina for his fourth and final version of the body. The upholstery has been renewed in "ivory" colour leather. General appearance is excellent, and the mechanical assemblies, all of which have been overhauled, are in good working order.
